Why is linen so special?
Here at Peony Linen we see linen as a magical fabric and this is the reason it's at the heart of what we do. Not only is it long lasting and actually gets softer over time but it is incredibly aesthetically pleasing - who knew an unmade bed with unironed bedlinen could look so good?
Linen is gentle on both people and the planet.
From a people perspective linen is a highly breathable and absorbent fabric. Perfect for the Asian climate, its temperature regulating properties will keep you cooler when the weather is hot and humid. It's also naturally hypoallergenic so it's resistant to dust mites and mould. And from a planet perspective, linen originates from flax, an eco-friendly crop that requires fewer resources like pesticides and water than other plants. It can grow in poor soil which is not used for food production and has a higher rate of carbon absorption.
Sustainability
Here at Peony Linen we identify ourselves as a responsible brand having adopted a sustainable approach to decisions we have made to date and strive to become even more socially and environmentally conscious as we grow as a business. With a focus on quality over quantity we aim to use our precious rolls of fabric wisely, carefully dividing it up to create small-batch products ensuring no overproduction or waste.
Our textile production partners are OEKO-TEX certified which means that what we sell is free from harmful substances.
Our packaging is deliberately minimalistic. Our boxes and wrap are made with a minimum of 50% recycled paper board and are printed with water based inks. We have selected biodegradable options wherever possible and are committed to continue seeking out the most ecologically sound ways to deliver Peony Linen to your door.
